Moisturizers are widely used in cosmetology and, as adjuvant therapy, in dermatology. Their use is necessary for formation of regular structure of epidermal barrier, provision of normal conditions for behavior of biochemical processes in skin cells, prevention of its premature aging. It has been known that cutaneous aging is accompanied by amplification of its dryness. Softness and plasticity of skin mainly depend on moisture content that present in corneal layer. So that to slow the process of cutaneous aging, it is necessary to compensate the loss of moisture. Formation of even coating at the skin surface may become one of the ways to its moisture preservation. Such coating might permit to lessen the evaporation of water out of inner skin layers. (далее…)

Recently cosmetologists in their pursuit of some miraculous ingredients for creating “elixirs for beauty and youth” more often turn to elastin, the structural protein that is present in the skin connective tissue along with collagen. In contrast to fibrillary collagen being the main structural component of dermis (90% of the connective tissue mass) and fulfilling the main physiological functions, elastin despite its low content (only 2…5%) is primarly responsible for the skin elasticity. Moreover, due to elastin the skin keeps moisture and creates the fatty film. (далее…)
